Bought my 1990 ProV 2.6 liter carb new. 18 years later it still cranks and runs like brand new. The only thing I've done is run high quality Amsoil synthetic oil, ring free in gas till 96 then switched over to Seafoam (2oz per 10 gals). Just this year I replaced the fuel pumps and that's it. I will never own another brand motor.
The 2.6 liter carb engines are tried and true.
Sure hope the 1990 ProV 150 is a good motor. Just bought mine with less than 100 hours on it (so the little old lady told me). It runs great! Hope it lasts me a few years!

I agree, mine is a 1985 and still running strong
The OX66's and the carb'd Vmax motors may not be the most fuel efficient, but they are some strong running, reliable motors.
