    Lost a friend

    Guys a friend of mine passed away earlier this week from Cancer. he was only 26 yrs old and just recently married. His family spent pretty much everything on treatments.

    I am thinking about putting on a tourney (prize awards) with an entry fee and donating all proceeds to his wife and parents. Jonathan was an avid outdoorsman and was involved in the turkey federation. If you guys that have put on tournaments have any suggestions or ideas please let me know. Granted this is just something I am considering. It would be awesome to be able to raise some good money for his family and also allow us all to fish (maybe even get to hang out). Let me know what you guys think.

    If you put on a tourney I would do my best to be there. Especially if it was on a saturday. Sorry for your loss.

    Some of the prizes I would like to do would be:

    Guided deer hunt (all expenses/lodging)
    Guided turkey hunt (all expenses/lodging)
    Gander MTN Gift Certs.
    Fishing lures, rods, reels and any thing else related to fishing.

    Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

    Okay guys, here's what I am thinking. Either have the tourney at Sooner or El Dorado on a Saturday in June. I will have some great prizes and again donate the entire entry fee money to the family. My FIL who was great friends with Jonathan (turkey hunting partners). We are going to organize this and I will keep you updated.

    I hope we can all get together for a good cause and wet a line together.
