I know on my Vmax 150carb they reccommend that you change the plugs, LU oil, and check the fuel filter. I did all this my self and saved a bunch of money. It does not effect warrenty at all as long as you save the reciepts. This was verified by a friend of mine who is a Yamaha mech. THey say that they torqe the head bolts too but They can do that when I have the 100 hr done. I think the 10 hr service is a waste of money if your boat is running good alot of other motors dont even have it any more, just my opinion. I have owned three new motors on different boats and always done the first service my self. However alot of guys want the peace of mind knowing that they took it in and had a dealer do it. If you can afford to do it then do it but its not that big of deal what they do Just my opinion.
Torquing the heads bolts is a thing of the past.

that is what I figured, thanks for the info........looks like I will be doing it myself
when you do the plugs do you have to line up anything with the injector ? I am coming from a BRP product that the plugs had to line up with the injector

good question, I have no idea! Does any else know?????
Check your oil pump lever mine was set rich from factory for break in. Idling speed should be checked, oil tank water drain should be checked. If you want to save money and do things your self buy a service manual you would be surprised how many dealers do not have them when I showed my dealer mine he said I don't even have one of those. He gets no work after that comment.![]()
oops never mind I found one online at the link on the top of the page
