    Mixing Oil

    Hi,

I have a '92 85hp Yamaha 2-stroke, with a 65L built in tank. Is it bad to put the oil into the tank and then fill the tank with fuel. Or is it better to mix the fuel before putting it in the tank?

I am thinking that I may get a build up of oil on the bottom of the tank if I don't premix?

    Thanks,

    Trevor

    Re: Mixing Oil (Trevor)

It's just fine to put the oil in and then gas. By the time you get to the ramp it will all be mixed throughly from just driving it down the road. The oil is not going to settle at the bottom. Also if you are not using one...you should run a fuel treatment to remove carbon such as Ring Free or Sea Foam. Carbon build-up will kill outboards over time.
