    thermostats on 92 pro v 150 ?

I went to a yamaha dealer today to buy parts to resolve my overheat problem. I bought in the impeller and they said it was ok. I bought a water pump repair kit anyway. The mechanic at the dealer said my circulation problem matty be the thermostats in each head .has anyone experienced this?

Yes. But it can be the thermostats or even the pressure relief valve. Yamaha has recently come out with a redesigned pressure relief valve you might want to install. Replace the PRV and the grommet seal at the same time, and look at the area of the hole beneath the grommet steal. This is an area where mineral deposits like to build up and distort the sealing surface of the PRV, letting cooling water escape and a loss of water pressure. You don't really need to replace the thermostats if they are clean and test Ok in a pot of hot water (fully open by 140 degrees...). But always use a new gasket. Do you have a water pressure gauge? What kind of pressure are you showing?

with the gaden hose attached to the engine and water coming out ot the pee hole i have 0 psi at idle. if i goose it i get a little pressure. I had the same thing on the water last year vlittle if no pressure at idle about 12-15 wot. I was alarmed when the overheat horn went off.

Either clean or replace your poppit valve, ( PRV).
