    2007 150 optimax won't start, intermittent

    fished a tournament this weekend go to start to come in turn key & nothing happens kept trying & it finally started, turned it off by the ramp same senario have taken it to the dealer won;t do it at his shop. only when i'm at the lake... could it be a bad starting solenoid.... club members think so... help!

    I'd recommend that you start by LOAD TESTING the battery. Confirm it's CAPACITY (actual capacity- not what the sticker "says").

    Ensure battery cables are CLEAN, engine cable installed FIRST, remaining lugs Largest to Smallest, and connection finished off with a Stainless LOCKNUT (do NOT use wing-nuts).

    IF everything above checks out...

    Cable connections at the ENGINE end, Solenoid... neutral safety switch (in the control box), keyswitch, or the starter itself are all possibilities.

    the ground on the solenoid i got 2 1/2 turns on, i hope that is it , it is a group 24 battery
    two years old, going to go to an optima d27m hope their specs are right 1000 & 800
    should do the trick .... thanx.
