brake lights blow fuse under hood

I have a 08 Stratos trailer that causes the fuse under the hood to blow. The running lights stay on but the turn signals and brake lights won't work. I've checked the wiring as best I can and can't find anything wrong. When I replace the fuse the lights work for a while but if the brakes stay on too long it blows the fuse. Even with a new fuse the brake light on the right side doen't come on but the turn signals work fine. The trailer is under warranty but I bought the boat from a dealer in Louisianna thinking that there was a dealer nearby, however, they quit handling Stratos and now the closest dealer is farther away than I want to drive just to get the trailer worked on. Anybody have any idea what my problem is?

Can you try hooking the trailer lights to another tow vehicle?

Check the fuse against the diagram on the cover and make sure it's not been replaced by one that is smaller than it should be.

It did the same thing with another vehicle. The fuse is a 15 amp fuse which is what is called for by the diagram. It is labled ttow turn. The tow vehicle is a Nissan Titan.

Re: brake lights blow fuse under hood (Apache 14)

I found the problem. When the trailer was put together the wire for the brake light got caught in the mounting bolt and was grounding out. I didn't find it until I dismantled the light to go get a new one.
