    Anchor Rope

I have a new Triton Exlorer and was told I cannot put a anchor mate on it because it is fiberglass. It sure was nice on my last boat, Just crank it up and you are done . My question is how are you folks storing your rope so it is not tangled every time you use it.

Actually i have never used an anchor in my boat. I never find a spot good enough to anchor on i guess.

    Re: Anchor Rope (wildkat7)

I store my rope and anchor when I take in one of my dry storage lockers. Like the other posts I do not use it to often except when I take the kids out but even than I use my trolling motor to keep the boat on the spot.

I have a digger brand anchor which seems to hold the boat nice.

By the way I did catch a anchor line 2 days ago if you want it. The rope was bad but the chain was still good but it did not have an anchor. The zebra muscles were a good touch and a few lures were Worth it

I keep my anchor in a plastic bucket. With good quality braided rope, you can just kind of coil it right into the bucket. I set the bucket on the deck and put the anchor in as soon as I pull it up. Keeps the rope neat and the mud and muck out of the boat.

I got some straps that are about 6" long and have velcro on them. I coil the line then put the velcro strap around it to keep it untangled.

I use a 15lb. river anchor with nylon anchor rope. Its all coiled in the center front dry box with boat bumpers and extra line. That location keeps it away from fishing gear but puts it near both front cleats where the rope would be tied off.

River anchor with the nylon 1500lb "tape" it is very easy to store and doesn't take up as much room as rope. Bassin1
