Is your prop 3.25" below the bottom of the transom, or the bottom of the pad? Something seems wierd..I've been looking at the other Skeeter guys' setups and even the guys with 300s aren't turning 27 inch props to 6000. Most with a ZX250 and 250hp are turning 27" props around 56-5700rpm. Makes me think that your motor might be higher than you think and slipping a lot.

I put a straight edge on the bottom of the hull, trimmed the motor down till the cavation plate was level with the straight edge and took my measure ment from there.Measurement probally not perfect but pretty close.Another guy I was talking to at the launch said I might be trimming my motor up to much, hope to run it today and try somethings different, will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for info.Would like to go faster if possible.Do not know why just human nature I guess.

finally got on the water, pretty day, light chop on canal. boat ran 77.1on gps but started chime walking @73.every time i bumped up the trim it kept picking up speed but chime walking kept getting worse.stayed in it till 77.1 but was scared to death.only turning 5600rpm.didn't get to move jack plate @ all as it appeared to bo stuck and i couldn't turn the jacking bolt.will fix problem before i go back and try it again.can i stop the chime walk by moving the jack plate up or down or with a different prop.yamaha 27t was on the boat,40gal gas,all my tackle, and i'm 200lbs.filled both live wells up and the chime started @75mph but was bad @ 77mph so i lifted again.boat will definately go faster if i had more nerve just like it is.going to read some articles on driving with chime walking and get more seat time.any ideas on how to stop chime walking greatly appriciateed,THANKS AGAIN

Sounds like 80 us within reach with a little more seat time. For info on chine walk, go to the the main page and click on the "Super Tips" link on the left. Then scroll down to the driving tips area - you will find two article regarding chine walk.
