If I install a priming bulb in the fuel line does it go between fuel tank and filter are between filter and motor are does it really matter? It would be real easy to put it right out of the tank and before the filters. Thinking about putting one in since the first time I crank it up for the day it takes forever to start.

First question would be "which 300 do you have"?
Mercury does NOT recommend the installation of additional inline filters with these engines. Doing so can add a fuel supply restriction (and to note, "your engine is already equipped with an adequate level of filtration").
Primer bulb can be virtually ANYWHERE between the fuel tank and engine, as long as it's flow (or in many cases, the "arrow") is pointing TOWARDS the engine.

It is a pro max 300 non X with oil injection removed. The filter I am speaking of is a water separator type filter. Thanks Don

This engine should ALREADY have been equipped with a water separating filter underneath the engine cowling.
