    Masterbuilt 30" Cabinet Smoker

Anybody use a Masterbuilt cabinet smoker? Looking at a 30" electric digital model for Christmas presents for the kids. The more I look at them the more I want one for me. Any opinions?

This is a great smoker. For some good recipes and rub go to Texas bbq rub.
    Try the smoked meatloaf. UNBELIEVABLE

I got one last year for Christmas...I love it, wish it was a little bigger though.

I've got a Masterbuild stainless one with digital temp and a viewing window. It does an excellent job, it seems weird to smoke something with all the vents closed but that's how it's done and you get a good smoke flavor using it.

Got one and love it. BPS will be running a very good sale on them Black Friday. I believe it was 179.00

    Not quite apples to apples:
Lowes is the standard black model
BPS is the stainless one with a window.

I've had mine for about 3 years. I LOVE it. It's the one with the window and thermometer. Works well, had no problems. Ribs will be in there tomorrow. Going to get one for my dad.

I bought one about four years ago - I don't know how it ever got UL rating - the wiring in the back of the unit got too hot and shorted out - they may have made it better since then but that thing was dangerous

I have owned one for three years. They did have a problem with the wires on the element burning in two. Mine failed on me but was still under warranty. They sent me a replacement with the updated element and it works great. It looks like they have taken care of the problem.

I have the 40" Stainless Steel with window and meat thermometer. It works great and no problems what so ever. I use it at least once a week and I've had it for a year. Set it for what ever temp level you want and it stays there until meat is ready. The remote control is very handy too. Highly recommend.

Well I pulled the Black Friday thing and raided BPS for two of the stainless/window models for their blow-out price of $179 each. That's the greatest deal I have ever gotten at BPS and was worth the Black Friday effort. On the way home I swung by Academy and they had one Taurus PT640 left and I took that off their hands too.
Now maybe my kids can make me some smoked jerky for once.

I think they will like them a lot.
