    02 225 opti alarm question

I'm getting the 4-beep alarm every two minutes that indicates low oil reservoir or water in filter. However, the reservoir is full and I changed the fuel filter, but I'm still getting the alarm. I seem to recall that I read that it could be electrical and just wanted some insight. I'm going to take it in either late this week or early next week, just wondering what may be the cause. Thanks in advance.

    Scooter:

The oil tank needs to be COMPLETELY full, with ABSOLUTELY NO AIR PRESENT. For information on properly bleeding, see:

Once you've bled the air out- if the warning is still sounding, I'd strongly suggest a computer diagnostic be performed to CONFIRM that it's an OIL WARNING.

If you want to "temporarily" bypass the oil level switch (ONLY FOR DIAGNOSTIC PURPOSES): Disconnect the connector for the sensor. On the HARNESS side (not the sensor side) of the connection- jumper between the two wires.

If the warning ceases- it's an oil warning, and you likely have a problem with the OIL TANK (float or tank may have swelled preventing sensor from reading properly). In this case- replace the TANK AND SENSOR.
