WEE VEE Guard!! http://www.transducerarmor.com they are a BBC sponsor and Jan makes an awesome product!! I have knocked the heck out of mine and all it does is leave a mark on the protector, not a mark on the transducer!!!

The WEEVEE does look to be a good idea, but I have talked to Jan, and they won't work if you have a Humminbird SI transducer on the trolling motor (measures 3.5" x 6"). The transducer is just too big to leave room to mount the WEE VEE.

I am in the process of modifying mine to see if I can get it to still work. I want some kind of protection for that $200 tranducer for sure !!!

A trick to protect the troll to ducer line can help also...my personal invention!
get 1/4 -1/2 inch auto black tubing 12-16 inches is plenty...
cut down one side with a quality knife...
slide over the ducer line as far down as you can...turn so cut faces boat...
put 4 inch black e ties every 3-5 inches and you have gained 100x more protection from nicks and such knocking out your fishfinder!

You do NOT want to mount the SI transducer on the trolling motor from what I've read, it needs to be mounted on the transom for proper operation.
