i hate chaseing a spool of linu around the boat when putting on line so heres a little tip for ya all

take a pair of needlenose pliers like we all have in the boat wedge the handle inbetween your lockers somewhere
put the spool on the pliers and spool away no more runnin around the boat chaseing your spool

I keep a screwdriver in the boat, works good also.

    Re: spooling line up (Robert)

I keep a BPS " Aluminum Line Winder " ( p/n- 28-474-250-00, $9.99 ) in the boat. Also have one in the house/garage. Great little stocking stuffer, really works. It has a suction cup on the bottom--I discarded that. Now it takes up no more room than a screwdriver or pliers, etc. Load your spool, set the tension via the spring and I usually hold the shaft between my feet. Crank it on. Biggest plus for me is that I can spool up on the water and use the spring tension while doing so. Ready to cast, no backlashes.....well, maybe one now and then.
