Power pole Blue Water nav lights question??

I just ordered the nav light kit to put in my power pole. Blue water was kind enough to reply to my email question asking about installation. I was told there are no detailed instructions yet, but there a couple of options for the install. They sent a couple of pictures of an install on a white power pole where the lights were installed in the knuckle. I like the look. Does anyone have pictures of installs and wire routing they can share?

    Thanks,

Re: Power pole Blue Water nav lights question?? (MET)

Got my Blue Water Nav lights on today, I was surprised there was no directions in the package for my power pole all around lights. Anytime I have ordered a kit of any kind, I got some instructions. So looks like I'll need a little help if you get yours installed. Email me pics if you can, wvmlhunter@aol.com

    Mtn. State Ranger,

I have not installed mine. I have seen pictures and got some great feedback from bassinbama (his pix are posted on the site). Do a search and you will find them.

I have not attempted for a couple of reasons:

I think to install them and miss the moving parts and clear the knuckle in the power pole, the mounting of the lights will be too low to be effective.

I was hoping the install would be a lot cleaner than it will ultimately be.

I wanted to install in top of the knuckle, but doesn't look like that is possible because the lights won't clear the tolerances of the knuckle when deployed.

Also, after thinking about visibility, I'm not sure you would have to install 4 lights to get 360 degree visibility. Would seem if you installed one light on each side of the pole, you would have the light coverage you need.

Sooooooo, after all of my rambling, the answer to your question is I am in a holding pattern on the install. Not sure what I am going to do.

Sorry for the lack of info.......and, I don't think there are any instructions to be had with the lights.

If I actually do install them, I will keep you informed. Please do the same.

    Thanks

Re: Power pole Blue Water nav lights question?? (MET)

Thanks for replying, I think we could do it just below the rotating knuckle. One of the lights might have to be iside the knuckle, since it is open inside I think it would work. Probably no more than 4" down from top. It would still be well above my motor & should be visiable. I will look up link before starting. By the way drill size should be 7/16" according to my calipers. Do the wires hook up in series, is that why there are 2 sets coming out? I think if I were marketing something I would have a set of drawings, that's just me. Good idea though.

    Bluewaterled installed on power pole
Will post pics soon, I put 6 instead of 4 on power pole, my choice no problem with visibility!!
Put it down at night for crappie light.

Re: Power pole Blue Water nav lights question?? (MET)

    Met,
As soon as I learn how to post pics, I will post them. Very happy with my result, I added 2 xtra lights. I mounted 3 in the knuckle, 1 in the very back 2 on the sides. On the front of portion of power pole I mounted them evenly spaced around the front half of pole. You wouldn't have to put 6 lights, but I'm glad I did. As far as wiring them up, send me an email & I will send you pics & explain more details of installation .
