    Motor Died in Rough Water

2006 225 pro xs. I hit a pretty good wave this past weekend and me and my partner both hit our knees on the consoles. Im pretty sure my foot came off the hotfoot for a second or two. Went to get back on the throttle and the motor had already died like the key was shut off. No alarms. Was running 4500-5000 RPMs. It started right back up and I took it on a 15 mile run after that and made shure my foot was secure on the hotfoot in rough water with no problems. Is there some sort of safety mechanism that kills the motor on sudden loss of throttle?

    No, there's not.

However, it's possible that you inadvertantly tripped the keyswitch or lanyard switch during your interaction with the dash.

I'd keep a close eye on it.... if the problem doesn't resurface, obviously try to avoid a similar occurance in the future.
