    Trolling motor holes

I am doing a big restore on my Champ and I took off the trolling motor and there are about 8 holes in the deck from old tm mounts. Can I fill those up with something and sand them smooth. I am putting back a big Fortrex so most of it should be covered but would like it water tight! thanks I will try and get a picture of it!

Since they are small holes and are not structural you can use kitty hair or better this; if you have some fiberglass chop mat and resin hanging around, mix them up and use that with a little MEKP. You can reuse the holes either way or cover with new motor or gel

Epoxy pieces of dowel rod in the holes about 1/8" below the surface and get a gel coat repair kit and fill the rest of the way in.

What color boat? If it's white, use some MarineTex to fill the holes, then sand and polish. I removed a section of hand rail on my boat and filled the holes where the bracket attached this way.

Take a rotary tool and bevel the hole on top. Put some duct or painters tape on the underside of the hole. Clean with acetone. Tape off around the hole as close as you can, then fill with Marine Tex. After it's cured (overnight), wet sand it w/ 600 then 1500. Compound and polish. You'll be happy with the results.
