Deck Extension on 89 champion

going to build a deck extension on my champion and just wanted to get some ideas and run downs on what I needed to buy on my next trip to home depot. Is Marine Plywood better than standard, how thick do I need? Should I used 2x4 as support beams. Should I cover the plywood with resin to prevent the wood from warping? Thanks for the help

I have a 184 f/s that i put a deck in and what i learned is==if you use reg plywood you need to seal it with resin i didnt and im having to do it again because the lids will look like potato chips==you can use 2x4s but champs do not like to much weight up front==so im useing PVC pipe for the frame and treated 3/4 plywood for deck.IMG_1095.jpgchampiondeck.jpgIMG_1074.jpgIMG_1082.jpg

I would use BS1088 okoume if it was my boat and I planed on keeping it. Not cheap but it's one of the best!

12mm or 1/2" about 42lbs 4x8 sheet, about $125, zero voids!

Use a complete resin coat or two once you get your pieces sized.

You can use 2x4 cedar and coat them with resin. Pick out some lite one's, and to help on weight make them into 2x3's.
