    For that engine:

HIGH TEST (91 or higher octane) Fuel ONLY.

Mercury or Quicksilver Premium PLUS oil.

Quickleen in EVERY tank of fuel (or better yet, the cocktail).

Re: 2005 250 XS....suggested GAS and OIL... (fishin fever)

2003 and 2004 250 XS had low rev limit of 5850 and required premium 91 min. octane and were a bit difficult to prop .. 2005 250 XS still required premium 91 min, octane but had the higher 6300 rev limit... In 2006 ,2007,2008, 2009 and 2010 the 250 XS and Pro XS models switched to regular unleaded fuel with 87 octane requirement and retained the high rev limit of 6300... Your 2007 runs on regular 87 octane and has the 6300 rpm limit... They all have had a decal on them with mercurys suggestion to use mercurys premium plus oil .... The 6300 rev limit is where the limiter kicks in but these 2005 and newer 250 XS and Pro XS make best power propped just under 6k...
