I filled some holes on my boat about 10 o'clock this morning and I just checked it and it seems to be solid but, it is still sticky to the touch. Will it be cured enough to sand by tomorrow?
Depends on how much catalyst you mixed in with the gelcoat , the air temp, and humidity.
Also if using standard gelcoat, it needs to be covered with a piece of wax paper or cellophane, etc as it does not cure in air.
Gel cures best in air temps around 70 degrees.
If it is still a little tacky , try a little acetone on a rag and wipe the surface to take of the tackiness.
I used the wax paper on it. I will try the acetone in the morning if it is still tacky. It is a little bit cool here too. Thanks for the help
