Not a restore but a full custom build.

this is my 89 hydrocat Mach 1 speed boat to bass boat project.. Stay tuned I will be cutting the top off and custom building this into a bass boat from scratch..
19 ft long and 90inch beam.. perfect starting point.. 200 merc hanging from the rear .. good starting platform for a one of a kind bass boat.. here is a few pics.

I will be removing the top from the boat in about 2 weeks .. but have starting some appearance work on the bottom half now..

    stay tuned.. lots to follow..

This should be great! What speed does the boat get as a speed boat?

    into this..

I have had this boat up to 75mph but with a little more tuning and a low water pickup It has 80's in it stock.. 200 hp

thanks.. removing the seats, steering, guages and wiring then off comes the top.. really dont want to add alot of weight but need something sturdy to build the decks out of so leaning towards 3/4 pressure treated plywood.. the rest will be nothing but glass...

Made a little progress even though it looks like a few steps in the wrong direction lol.. But have to start somewheres..

probably removed 250 lbs by removing all this junk.. next step clean up the front, figure out placing and start framing in the front deck. And making some custom consoles..

Do you build/mock up everything with wood then glass it into the boat? BTW cool project
