    Bottom of boat scratches

Been thinking of hitting the bottom of my boat with polishing/rubbing compound to try and get the black shine back. It is pretty well covered with very shallow scratches and white marks. Does anyone have a recommendation as to the type of compound? I see that Harbor Freight has their polisher on sale so I'll pick that up. What about pads? What is good for trying to clean up the gelcoat? Also posted this in the Restoration forum.

    Thanks,
