    Max horsepower

I just went to the local Progressive office where I have all my insurance. I tried to insure the boat I just bought. They told me Progressive will not insure an Allison XB2002 with more than a 200 hp motor. Went with another company just to get on the water. I will be shopping in a couple of weeks.

    Re: Max horsepower (BARRY J)

You never know what anwer you going to get with boat insurance. I had my Allison XB2003 with a 2.5 280hp insured with Progressive up until I sold it last month.
    Hope is not a method!

One agent said Progressive rejected me and another agent said that Progressive would insur me for 850 a year. Hit and miss it seems. Still was twice what other companies would charge, but just funny how they handled it.
