I don't know where to start here. First off you would void your warrantee. A lot of insurance companies could deny a claim because you exceeded what the manufacture and U.S coast guard recommended. If you had someone injured on your boat and the claim was denied, the medical bills would be your responsibility. I would strongly recommend not doing this. I hope this helps your decission. thanks, im just curious. im currently running a ranger 360 w/ a 175 efi merc. this boat is rated for a 175, but that was for the old powerhead ratings. now all outboards are rated at the prop, giving all 300 series rangers a legal 25 hp xtra....... in my opinion.ranger has historically underpowered their rigs in comparison to other mfrs, just look at the power / length / weight ratios....the first rig that has cometive power is the new z 520 @ 250 hp . thanks again.......
