So This what i did just recently, I got a new to me set up, 1- HDS Carbon 12", 1- HDS Carbon 9" with structure scan 3d module and transducer. I connected them all from the existing wiring harness on my boat (year 2000) and they were flashing off and on and wouldnt function correctly. I found a post on another forum that stated to do the following and that is exactly what i did to make them work perfectly.

Run 10 Gauge tinned copper wire from the battery to a 6 circuit Blue Seas fuse block under my helm (best place for me to put it). Connected my 12" and the SS3D module to the fuse block, no extension needed. then i ran 14 gauge tinned copper wire from the fuse block to the bow for my 9" graph. If the power cord wires needed to be extended I used 14 gauge wire. I also added a 20 amp switchable breaker about a foot from fuse block, it can be anywhere, just as its easy to access for your purposes. When you park the boat just turn off the breaker to kill power to your units and isolate them from the batteries while they're being charged.

Haven't had any issues with the graphs since. I also run my NMEA 2000 backbone off of the fuse block.

So , to answer your question, I am sure 12 Gauge "tinned copper" wire will be good enough, it sits in between the 10 and 14 i used. You dont need to do exactly what i did but just make sure you are wiring correctly to protect your devices. good luck!

Plenty, its max draw is listed at 650ma (less than an amp). 3amp fuse listed
Tell me where has a slow movin' once quick draw outlaw got to go

I ran mine in 12ga about 15ft from the center console to the bow.
Works great for Live 12 and AT1 with little voltage drop.
