    Ultrex power switch problem

The power switch on the pedal has become extremely sensitive. It sometimes even goes on in the off position. When in the off position, if you tap on it, the power will attempt to go on. Is this switch replaceable or is it something worse?

thank you in advance for your thoughts.

It is replaceable, BUT you may can fix it yourself. Pull the two wires off of it and clean the switch terminals with steel wool or similar. Reconnect the wires. If that works, put some dielectric grease on the terminals to seal them from exposure to water/humidity.

If that doesn't work get the upgraded sealed version

Do you access the switch from the top or do you have to remove the plate on the bottom and go that way??? No trying to hi-jack the post

Old switch pops out easily from the top. The new sealed switch requires wires to be crimped, and its kinda tight. Polarity does not matter. When the circuit is completed the power is off.
Remove the old switch and do not connect the wires. If power is consistent, its the switch, if not, you may have an issue with the board.

It is better if you remove the metal plate on the bottom of the foot pedal to access the switch. This will make it easier to remove the switch clean it up put dielectric grease on it and then put the wires back onto the switch. I have done this many times on all Ultrexes in the last few years and it has worked every time.

I popped the old switch out and there was enough extra wire I could crimp the sealed switch wires then just push the wires down in and the new switch popped right in

    Never removed the bottom plate
