    Graph screen protectors

New Xplore 12s on the way. For those with experience, do aftermarket screen protectors actually work? I'm sure it would still has no chance against a 50mph jighead, but would it help with small items and scratches? I have heard they may make it more difficult to read the screen.

The only two options I see available are from IPG guard ($25 each) or Precision Sonar Graph Glass ($60 each).

They will help protect. You just have to choose between frustrating cloudy hazy one or the frustrating super blinding shiney one.

I use Precision Sonars graph glass as well on all my bow graphs. They're IMO a more vulnerable spot on the boat to being hit by lures and stuff so I try to protect them as much as I can. They do add a bit of glare, wouldn't recommend the anti-glare ones as those make it appear blurry.

Used both Precision Sonar and RMP screen protectors on last 3 boats. Order clear ones, no issues, no glare and they will protect your screens.

This ^ right here is my only recommendation. Without going into detail all I will say is their customer service is 2nd to nobody. Thankfully I have never struck my graph with anything but I have had to replace a screen protector that was 100% my fault and yet they help me out.

You would be surprised! Direct hit from 1/2 oz jig. Held my breath when I remove it, screen was perfect!

Yes, they work. I can show you a $3500 jig! When I got my new units I figured I would test them first, then install the protective screens that I had sitting in my garage. Very bad decision on my part. Skipped a jig right off of one. When Lowrance said they couldn't repair it, and a fishing trip coming up where I needed the broken unit replaced, well..... education and stupidity are expensive.
