Im going to cruise up to Batesville this afternoon and hit White River to try for a few smallies. I need a little break from the Arkansas River..I'll post a report..

It went pretty good, caught a few fish and ran around alot.. Fun trip..

How easy is it to navigate the white river up around batesville and can you catch 'em around newport. I have never fished this body of water except up on Calico Rock for trout.

I need to try to learn Dardanelle a little, I only have fished it once, I dont fish any tourneys so I suppose thats why I dont fish it, I like my home lake of Degray, the bite is on over there now. But if you guys ever need an extra person to go throw something different, give me a holler.

Batesville pool is easy to navigate. From the bridge you have about 4 miles of good river to run with several feeder creeks hitting the river. About 4 miles up, there is an island with shoals on each side that can be ran, especially with the water up like it is now. Lots of nice smallies in that part of the river and the largemouth fishing is good too.. Newport is good too, I like it above the Black River inlet, its alot clearer above that.

Sure thing TK, Im on the Arkansas quite a bit, not at Dardanelle alot, but on other parts of the river pretty often..

Never fished Dardanelle myself, going to hit it hard this weekend...
