Tackle Making question?

I was wanting to start making spinnerbait, jigs, weights, etc. but i'm not very familar with the items that you have to buy. What would be a good cheap way to get started? I have looked at several pots to melt the lead, but where do you buy lead? What is a good website to get cheap new items? Any help would be great.
