How many use Dick Nite's lure topcoat

Guys I have been using the devcon since I have started painting but, typically I clear several baits at a time and it takes what seems like forever to finish the process. I was wondering how many here use the dick nite's lure coating. Their website says you can dip or brush it on. Seems like a much faster way of doing it. Just looking for some feedback

I use DN on some things. It is good stuff but hard to store. It will cure itself in the can if any moisture is present. It works the best by dipping. If you brush it on you take the chance on it removeing the paint. Its very strong stuff.

Thanks oscar, I had been told that it could be challenging to store. I may try some and see what happens.

It takes some getting use to. I have ruined a few baits learning to use it. I don't think there is one top that will work for every type of bait. I use several different kinds depending on the bait.

If brushing, store it in a hot sauce bottle, then pour what you need into a container to brush out of.

I use it, as well as a few others. For storage, I just invert the can, install a small self tapping screw just above the now bottom seam. The DN will seal the screw hole and I can remove only what I need at a time. If brushing you definitely do not want to "over work" it and you must make sure the color coats are dry and\or heat set. When using Createx paints, I unusually spray the painted lure with Createx clear matte before using DN.

That is a good idea. I never thought of doing that. No chance of drips back in can that way. Do you use quart cans?

Right now, just pints. Learned that little trick at the last rod building expo. Seems a few of those guys use that technique to store Perma Gloss. Both are moisture cure urethanes, so I tried it and so far it has worked great for DN and the Perma Gloss storage. When you remove the screw to drip\drain the amount you want to use, very little air is allowed back into the can. I am usually only coating 3-6 lures at a time so I use it in small amounts.

I bet if you could find a bag that would hold up, Like an IV bag to use a valve at the bottom and let zero air in would work great. But it would probably eat up the bag or something.
