i use u-40 rod bond for glueing seats and cork onto the blanks

i have used flex coat and u-40 supreme for finishing.

russ uses some stuff called afkote or something like that... it is pretty tempermental, but gives a nice finish if you get it applied right.

    Hot off the presses!!!!

contact Andy Dear at http://www.lamarreelseats.com/ and get some of his new Threadmaster finish.....................Everyone I talk to has told me that its the Cats Meow when it comes to finish!!!! Very user friendly also!!!

As long as your buying it for the first time you may as well go with the newest stuff out there!!!

    Jimmy,
I am ordering some along with some cork rings at the end of the week............

Will let you know how it works out!
From what I am hearing its flexible like the Aftcote I use but sets up quicker but still has a pot life of around 30 minutes........Not that I have any problems with bubbles with the finishes I have been using but they say that that bubbles are a non issue with the Threadmaster finish.....

sounds interesting... i have enough ls supreme to last me a few years, so i wont be changing anytime soon! :)

actually i have been using guberod rod varnish on all my wraps before i epoxy them. I do about 2-3 coats of the rod varnish (it is water based and dries quickly, so you can do coats 30 minutes later), then i do one final coat with epoxy. Works very slick and it cuts down on finishing time...

the rod varnish works really nice on going over writing too... especially if you are trying to minimize your epoxy use (to reduce weight)
