Looking for some help finding the LM bass....I am picking up my boat Saturday from New Jersey, staying over and fishing Smith MT on Saturday. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction....instant message me to keep your spots safe ....I probably will never get back there so I won't be burning you spots every weekend!

There is no hard/fast rule to any of this as fish have the whole lake to use but for the most part SML is not much different than anywhere else where both species (LM & SM bass) live. SML is a deep clear impoundment so the fish have lots of options. Generally speaking here's how I see SML:
The LM's live shallow so look at boat docks, wood, rock, etc in depths 12' and less. Learn how to skip docks with jig, swimbait (Skeet reese won with a swim bait at SML), senko, shakey head, etc. The smallies there (giants by the way live there) will be a bit deeper typically and relate to the bottom or shad balls. Drop shot, football head jigs, jerkbaits, flukes, etc work well on those brown fish depending on what they are doing that day. Use your graph to see where they are and fish that depth.
VA bass club is definitely the place to get info based on the time of year.
