    Best Non Weed Jig

Just wondering what people's feelings were about the best "Non weed specialized jig" What I mean is NOT an Oldham screw lock jig style head that is specialized for weeds and grass. In that category I think the Oldham is by far the best especially in real havy cover where it's hook, screw lock and head coating/design are superior BUT in wood and rocks the head slips into cracks in the rock easier than other heads because of it's relatively narrow head design.

The jig I'm looking for needs to have a 4/0 or 5/0 extra strong Mustad or Gammie type hook, this is not for light cover or casting but more all around pitch and flipping.

    Thanks

Check out the poison tail and pro flipping jigs on Flatlands Custom Tackle. Joey Watts makes a great jig in any color combo you can think of. Any jig can hang up fishing it in cover.

nemesis baits makes a nice all-around jig based off the do-it brush jig mold. good in weeds and open water alike. stands up on the bottom and they added a screw-lock bait keeper. nemesisbaits.com -pic is on the front page.

A standard arkey head jig is wider and flatter than most of the newer, more narrow, baitfish style heads. Using that style should help in the rocks.
Also try football head jigs. They were made for dragging around rocks. I know of guys who use a football jig for pitching, flipping, casting or whatever.
