This beats the hell out of Democrat v Republican any day,
We were talking the other day about the difference of a Jig v A tube and when to use each?

Bill, about the only time I use a tube is for bed fishing,But I have been throwing a 1/2 oz. football jig instead of a C-rig on offshore points and have been catching a few fish.I'm not catching as many, but they are better fish.
It not an either or proposition, I generally use a jig first, but then I'll present a tube in pretty much the same places. Some days the fish have a preference for one or the other, other days it's about even between the two baits. Almost always got both rigged and ready.
Same as David, I use them interchangably depending on what the fish want
I'm with David on this one....I always have to flippin' stix on the deck...one rigged with a jig and the other a 5" crock-o-gator tube. I used to pitch my tube with a weighted rattle inside the tube, but i've gone to not pegging a tungsten bullet weight. I think that little bit of separation from the tube as it falls thru the water gives it more action. I'm always pitchin' both the jig and the tube to the same spots though. Smoke colored 5" tube fallin' down thru the trees and docks looks a lot like a dying shad. Maybe my favorite bait.![]()
