Red Green is from Southern Ontario, Gussy is from Northern Ontario, Mercer who gave Gussy the terrible nickname is from Southern Ontario..... Almost as confusing as some of you think following MLF is eh!

Oh yeah, and those foreigners are taking over B.A.S.S. on and off the water, can't believe y'all aren't flocking to MLF to get away from them!

I think the smart move is to put the top 50 anglers, B.A.S.S. and BPT into one league with a 12 tourney schedule from Feb-Sep with a championship in Oct.
B.A.S.S., BPT, NPLF(?), nah.

I think they hired the same guy to spin the TV numbers as they do counting the number of guys who enter the expo

While the TV numbers are solid for fishing, its not drawing playoff hockey / basketball type numbers

The 4.5M number came from Nielsen. You know Nielsen is way more inaccurate than your blog guy link you posted. I mean Nielsen is not world renowned for what they do or are a leader in that field at all. They probably can't be trusted.....

I bet you have much more accurate headcount numbers of the Classic from home than any on-site counting system or actual Classixlc attendees as well.....








BTW......its all on good fun. I trust the Nielsen ratings above anything else. I have been to a lot of Classics and while this location and even the actual fishing was far from my favorite one I can say without question tbat this Expo was the most busy and most crowded I have seen. Sales numbers are pretty strong and seem to back it up.

It's not logic. People hate MLF because Daddy's new girlfriend or Mom's new poker. People didn't have a problem with FLW like they do with BPT/MLF. MLF BOUGHT FLW and changed the name.
The anglers had every right to do what they did. Elites and MLF/BPT. From what I see, B.A.S.S. Opens cut off their noses to spite their faces. Anglers know Bryan Thrift for almost 20 years. Who won the Classic this year? Red Green?
All of the organizations hurt themselves and the who tournament game may suffer.

I would think that is just for the Fox live show alone. I'm not sure it is counting the other 8-10 hours on FS1 and FS2. It could be but I am not sure.

You have any kind of link? I’m guessing it’s BASS doing the mlf spin of, “4.5 million people watched”, but not 4.5 in the traditional way they do tv ratings.

I only mention the expo head count because on BTL Matt was talking about his buddy who smoked mentioned he got counted like 15 times per day

BASS posted the Nielsen ratings. They referenced Nielsen specifically. Maybe you can check Nielsen numbers? They put the release on their Instagram and referenced tge source as Nielsen Market Research. I bet tgey also post it on the BASS website soon.

In the past BASS has said the have people and cameras at entrances that count people. I think they also separately count take off and weigh in crowds. I know most morni gs the lines to get in the Expo were extremely long. We got there about 90 minutes early most days and lines were already going waiting to get in.

Just checked and they said “total reach across fs1 and fox”. So while it was good numbers for bass fishing, not NBA finals type ratings, guessing it’s more around that 500k number.

Do you really expect bass fishing to reach NBA type numbers? I don't. Not even remotely close. It sure seems to have blown all other previous bass fishing tournament shows out of the water by a large margin.

Add in tve Expo crowd and you are close to a reach 5M people foe one event. Tgat doesn't even count streaming of live coverage numbers.

And it never will reach those numbers again if so called "tournamentfans" don't stop trying to tear every effort BASS and BPT makes to get it back there again. So many are quick to bash either one.


The best numbers since 2009 should be a positive right? It's increased significantly tge past 3 years. Should everyone just trash that or what? Shouldn't they as organizations and us as fans be excited by the resurgence?

Both platforms deliver hours upon hours of free coverage through different outlets, they offer 100% fan and friendly championship events where you leave with an incredible amount of free swag plus a chance to interact with their favorite anglers. What other soort/league does that?


We as fans are spoiled and we are our own worst enemies.
