    blacksburg/christiansburg area

    looking for a trout stream around the area...seems like all the new river has is smallmouth. any help would be appreciated.

    Would think further up the New River in WV or make the drive up Rt220 toward Covington and fish the Jackson or Cowpasture Rivers.

    It may be a haul, but the Jackson at Hidden Valley behind the camp ground is one of the best steams that hold fish at this time of year. This is above Moomow.

    Pandapa's pond just outside Blacksburg on 460 is a stocked pond. Then you have Big Stony creek in Giles county between Pembroke and Pearisburg.

    Going North on I-81 about 25-30 miles outside of Roanoke....Take the Arcadia exit and head up into the National Forest. Jennings Creek and North Creek are stocked trout streams. Cold mountain spring water so they're both good for summer fish.

    Just make sure you've got a Nat Forrest Permit
