Optimax DFI oil and premium plus

I have been putting DFI oil in my Optimax for the past year and a half since I bought the boat. I was running low on oil and did not have the time to drive a few towns away to get more. I ended up going to walmart and picked up the quicksilver stuff. I bought the Premium Plus because that is all they had at the time and I read that back of the oil bottle and it said it was for DFI engines. I spoke with a marine mechanic to make sure it was ok to use this oil with my optimax. He said that it was fine...well I today I just put it in the oil reserve and noticed that this oil is green while the oil I have been putting in the boat is brown.
I know that both oils are okay to be used with an optimax but is it okay for them to be mixed?

Re: Optimax DFI oil and premium plus (Birdi23nls)

Optimax engine questions are best answered on the forums ABOVE, and BELOW this one.

Optimax/DFI oil is the CORRECT and RECOMMENDED oil for your Optimax Engine.

IF this oil is temporarily unavailable, Mercury or Quicksilver Premium Plus can be used. The two oils are completely compatible with one another (no problem with mixing/switching back as soon as you can obtain the APPROPRIATE oil).
