have you been using the vro pump as the fuel pump?

Check the motor parts for sale page. Your 1989 225 has a one piece drive shaft so for ease of replacement look for a 200 and up V-6 up to 1991 model year. For a fuel pump look for a VRO off of a blown motor. You can leave the oil side disabled if you wish.
You could also get a newer unit with the correct length upper driveshaft. Used gearcases, even with an attractive price, should really be avoided, as you never know what you're getting.![]()
vro was disconnected long ago I was hoping to use an brand new earlier diaphram style pump maybe off the 235's and i am definatley nervous about a used lower unit but the funds just arent there for a refurb or aftermarket thanks for all the help so far i can cancel out every unit i found so far![]()
