    LMS-520c

Got an issue with a temp reading. It either sticks on 32 degrees or goes from 115 degrees to 100 depending on what it wants to do. It flashes on and off like its not getting a reading but then sometimes it stays solid like it is.....anybody else had this type of issue or a suggestion to what the problem might be?

Sounds like you've been to Claytor lake - Hot Side of Anna (way to close to outflow for fish) - then moved too close to steam generator during eddy current inspection.

The temp gauge is unhooked in the rear boat compartment somewhere or under the console

    Re: LMS-520c (Original TrickWorm)

Unhooked as in unhooked from the LMS or unhooked completely? Ed just gave me an idea to try the 520 up front and see how it reads. That will determine if it is the wiring or the unit itself.

Your cable that runs from the unit to the temp sensor is seperate from the transducer ..... it has lost connection as there are three connections in the line ...... mine is the same way been that way ever since I got it.

There will be blue/gray screw in connectors.

Ok....I knew they were seperate but figured it would be a straight shot to the sensor and not have connections along the way.....

As long as your GPS works, so you can waypoint everyone's spots, you should be okay without the temp reading....

There should be three connections in a Lowrance temp network. The sensor is at the rear of the boat, goes to a "T" as Mike said in your rear bilge compartment. From the "T", one goes to the unit at the console, and the other cable goes to the unit at the bow. Then there will als be a connection for each unit where these network cables actually connect to each unit, either under the dash, or just behind the bow panel.
