1990 JOHNSON 200 GT BOGS DOWN

I HAVE A 90 JOHNSON 200GT MODEL NO.J200GTLESE SER NO. G02516848 AND WHEN I FIRST PUT THE BOAT IN THE WATER, IT WILL GET UP ON PLANE WITH NO PROBLEM. WHENEVER I TRY TO GET UP ON PLANE FOR THE SECOND TIME, IT WON'T GET UP ON PLANE--THE MOTOR BOGS DOWN. AFTER TRYING TO TURN THE MOTOR OFF AND RESTART IT AND ALSO TILTING THE MOTOR ALL THE WAY UP, IT WILL EVENTUALLY GET UP ON PLANE. WHENEVER I TILT THE MOTOR ALL THE WAY UP, GAS DRIPS FROM ONE CARB. THE IDLE IS ABOUT 1300 IN NEUTRAL WHEN PROBLEM OCCURS ANY IDEAS???

Have you tried hitting the choke when you accelerate to see if it helps? If it bogs then you have an electrical problem if it picks up then you have a fuel issue. I would pull the drain plug from that carb, let it drain and tap it lightly on the bowl with the end of a screwdriver. Sounds like the float needed is stuck or has some junk in it. With the plug out pump your primer bulb a few times to pump any junk out of it. Then install the drain plug and flush the belly pans with water.

Pushing the choke in makes it worse, but if the carb is flooding it would cause the motor to bog. I'm going to check compression and check for spark thanks for your help.

If pushing in the choke makes it worse then you have an electrical issue. Stator, timer base, power pack etc.

When you say try pushing in the choke and see if it's better.... is that supposed to make it run like normal or just surge better for a moment and then start choking out?

If it responds to pushing in the choke then you have a fuel issue, meaning, by pressing in the choke you are shooting added fuel to the intake manifold. If it blubbers then your fuel delivery is fine and your ignition system is having issues.
