I just noticed that my warning horn isn't sounding when I turn the key to the on position. The lights do their normal power on test and the tach needle moves to the 0 position. I researched in the archives here and have found out that there is a separate horn that is probably somewhere under the dash. I'm going to try to locate this today when I get home. Is there a way to test to see if it is good before I spend 35-40 bucks on another one? I see that there are 2 wires, a purple (12v) and another with a tracer that is the ground. Can I connect these leads to a 12v source to activate the horn? The motor is a 2005 J90GLSOB mounted on a 2005 Stratos 275ProXL boat. It has the system check features built into the tach.

. When I pulled the side cover off under the helm, I found the horn. When I started following the pigtail back, the problem became obvious fast. Some dang rats had chewed the wires in half right at the connector 
. I spliced them back together for the time being and I'm back in the saddle again. As for the rats, the 2 boxes of DCON I put out last week finally seemed to have done the trick...at least I hope!
