    New update

Draggin ass, had to work half a day today and trying to get my chores done today so I can hit the water tomorrow and try the new update. Down loaded to my iPhone using AC went like clockwork . Powered everything up on the boat and uploaded all the new software from my iPhone went smooth as can be. Whole process took less than 15 minutes. AC sure has worked well for me so far . Wow on all the new color palettes. I don’t know which one to pick I think they’re all going to be a hit depending on what you like . One thing I noticed on the ghost reject is that it was not included in the simulator mode. I haven’t looked real close and maybe that was advertised somewhere. Fingers crossed I’ll try to get some clips to post tomorrow evening.

What unit did you update? If the older 93 Plus, there wont be any "ghost reject" option.....

Sorry, I should have been a little more clear ( running on fumes) they’re 8600s, to be clear the ghost reject works on the actual unit. I don’t know what the proper term would be but apparently ghost reject software wasn’t included in the simulator mode.

    Ghost reject clip

I tried to mix and match the settings as you can see on the right. I’ll let you all be the judge. I really don’t have a problem with it but it just looks like another Band-Aid to me. Sorry I didn’t get any bait or fish in the clip, tough day.

Disappointing new update side vu shots

The new update doesn’t agree with the gt34uhd. Don’t know why but all the new palettes are extremely grainy. The new update did provide more range and depth compared to the previous software. I don’t know maybe the new update is setup for the new transducers coming out don’t know. Kind of a bummer.

Looks lkke lowrance has been writing code for garmin. Lowrance and the AI transducers and software killed the downscan ans sidescan water column. I went back to older software and transducers because of that.

Yah, if I wanted 455khz imagery or less on a uhd transducer I wouldn’t have downloaded the software or bought a uhd transducer

I agree and trust me I’m not happy but whining to you all about it doesn’t solve anything so I’ll just bite my tongue. I do still have one great transducer (Airmar TM165HW) hopefully no will screw that one up .

The update only added some palettes, the old ones are still there. If you use the palette you had before the update you will get the same picture you had before. I don't think there is a downside to the update for the units.

I took one screenshot yesterday out fishing (GT50TM) at a spot where there was some bait and a creek channel. Everything is at AUTO and this is the AQUA color setting. I can definitely see a ton more detail with the new palettes. With the old ones I was often either washed out in parts of the image or too dark in parts of the image for a complex image. I feel like with the new palettes that the detail really pops so much better than with the original palettes. I did not spend much time trying other new palettes because when I quickly flipped through I like this one a lot.

Thanks for the reply. Here’s an image from an original palette and it’s nowhere near what I was getting before the update so I don’t know.

Strange. My old palettes looked the same to me. Maybe the update changed some setting (contrast or something) or maybe it changed the contrast scale. For me it did not make seem to make a difference but I am always just on auto.
