My '93 120hp locked up this afternoon...going down the lake...running just fine at about 4000rpm...had just gone to WOT and about 3 seconds later it started making this awful knocking sound and about 2 seconds after that it quit. I'm guessing a rod came loose or broke...but again Im guessing...wont turn over by hand with spark plugs out. Does anybody have any recommendations for rebuilding/remanufacturing?

May want to try Riverside Marine in Old Hickory. You won't know much until you take off the heads.
pulled carbs and reeds and found out it ate a rod bearing...had metal shavings everywhere. I think it was an fuel/oil related issue...the rod bearing cap and the crankcase area around it was not as oily as the other three. same cylinder as the piston I had to replace last year. for some reason that cylinder appears to run leaner than the other three. last year got the rings...this year the rod bearing. soaked/cleaned the carbs last year before putting them back on...ran great all last summer...put stabil in the gas over the winter...ran it with the stabil in the gas for bout 10 minutes on the muffs so the gas stays fresh both in the tank and the carbs themselves...went to the lake 2 weeks ago and ran just fine...went this past sunday afternoon and it made it about 2 miles from the ramp.
