Falcon or Amistad in March?

Me and a buddy are planning a fishing trip beginning March 18th, we usually go to Amistad and have always done well, we were considering maybe trying Falcon this year. My question would be what pattern the fish usually are in at that time. I know it will probably be mostly post spawn but will fish still be shallow feeding? Deep? Also, I know the lake levels are way up at both lakes. Any info you guys could give would be appreciated.

We have 10 days to fish so we may do a half and half with Falcon and Amistad.

I have never been on Falcon which I hope to change by the end of this year. As for the bass that live in the deep water of any of our lakes, they will stay in the shallower waters after spawning and feed. They want move back to the deeper water for a couple'a months. That info was the result of a study by John Hope back in the '80's. I love Amistad and it is hard not to go there.

You are right..we have done really good at amistad the last 4 years and hate to not go but its nice to try new stuff too.

Yes I agree with trying new lakes, I love doing that. Falcon is a great lake and I plan on a trip there this summer. What ever you decide I hope you have a great trip and enjoy it.

also, anyone stayed at the Lakefront Lodge at falcon? had someone tell me about it but its nice to have first hand recent info.

In March the Elite boys will be down on Amistad9th - the 14th and the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Nation State tourney will be from 22nd - the 27th. Just a heads up.

Do you need Mexican boat insurance for fishing Falcon?

That is up to you, it is not required, but your finance company might require it if you trash your boat over on the Mexican side of the lake. Debra Hengst sells insurance if you think you need it.

Any suggestions for places to stay at Falcon? Anyone know what the Osa Blanco Lodge is like?
