150 FastStrike Check Engine Light

I have a 1996 150hp FastStrike (Model BJ150GLEUE) that the check engine light comes on whenever the key is turned on. This occurs after the systems check runs through all of the other alarms. There is no beep after the systems check is run and there is no beep when the alarm comes on (I think the horn may be disconnected or broken). The light stays on when the motor is running on the water hose, I haven't taken the boat out yet because I don't want to run it too much with that alarm.

I know that the check engine light is a fuel restriction problem, but could it possibly be that the gauge is bad?

Could be a bad vacuum switch. Disconnect it and see if the light still comes on.

disconnected the vacuum switch and turned the key over and the light still stayed on.

Most likely a bad gauge, substituting a known good one will tell for sure
