2024 Ranger 520R / 2024 Mercury 250 Pro XS
That’s all I use. A lot more clarity and I can see which species I’m graphing. I never use 2d sonar. But it’s all in personal preference.

I use it constantly while crappie fishing.

I split my screen with both sonar and DI once in a while but usually it's just DI
2020 Skeeter ZX150
DI exclusively.
Sick, tired, hungry, broke, busted, disgusted, can't be trusted, been imposed on and won't fight
Yep, if the depth finder is on it's on DI... Except when I fish the river, backwaters are too shallow... Dan
I'm going against the grain here but I hardly ever use down imaging on the trolling motor. If I am fishing a shoreline it is on 2D. If I am fishing offshore it usually stays on the gps/2D split. I do use it occasionally but if I could go back I would probably go for a bigger screen and no down imaging.
2011 Ranger Z518
Yamaha VMAX SHO 200
usually split screen 2-D and DI
2009 ELITE 210
DI 100% of the time upfront!
just about blind without it. 12” bird, DI on half, map on the other.
so the movement of the T/M doesn't mess up the image ?
Always have a 3 screen up on the troll..down/2d/map.
DI all the time unless i'm in a shallow weedy backwater
Split screen 40% map and 60% DI. I do this 100% of the time.
Front graph has both TM sonar displayed with transom downscan imaging
Sidescan for me and sometimes run all 3 split screen.
2007 Ranger188vs, Mercury optimax 150
I have a Lowrance HDI 5 for DI and a HDS8 for 2d sonar on trolling motor. I use both simultaneously.
I typically split DI/2D. Though if I’m mapping I split my map with 2D
It’s almost all I use up front.
