It’s a “Megabass Veloster”, a bullet copy made in Brazil.

Is is even possible to recover from a blowout like that or is it a brace and pray situation?

Yeah, it’s possible, i’ve recovered from situations like that dozens of times. But you must be extremely focused, and know exactly what to do... this time i was very dumb, i forgot to move the steering wheel to the right position prior to run and was checking the speed on the iphone that is on passenger hands... than i got the blowout while i was looking to the side and loose the timing and amount of corrections needed...

man... sometimes I realize myself thinking: “...if I had the option to go back to that very moment -2 seconds!”... would i choose to go back??? I’ll never know... it’s hard to think about it... I ran 100+ without knowing the weight of water ...

had blowout happen 3 times to me. once in a 20' bullet at 88 and twice in my striker at high 90's. the bullet was scary and a wild time getting out if it. the striker sat down pretty easily and was much tamer.

Wow. Never seen anything like that. Does blowout only occur at super high speeds? Luckily I have not had that happen to me.

Higher the speed, easier to happen...
That’s the moment that the vacuum created from the nose cone reaches the propeller and it looses grip... the bow of the boat will “fall” and will begin the critical moment to recover...

I've had blow out happen at 45 with a short shaft motor crossing a wake which was pilot error.
Any time the prop is out of contact with water, the bow will drop and the boat will bow turn if the right corrections are not made at the right time.
Many lower units on modern bass boats will blow out in the mid 80's simple by design.

Glad both walked away and were able to laugh about it..From the looks of the boat I'm amazed there were at the very least no broken bones.
