    Helix 9 Mega Transducer Placement

I just got the helix 9 mega and I am wondering the best transducer mount location. I have last year's helix 9 also and when I mounted it per the users manual, I do not get readings over 10mph. However, I noticed Doug Vahrenberg has video and he is mounting his on the left side of the motor and in between the first and second rib. He says this gives on-plane readings. Any help will be greatly appreciated! My boat is a 2004 Triton 1748 MVJ with a 25hp Evinrude E-tec, if that helps....

The bottom of the transducer has to be slightly below the bottom of the hull to give high speed depth readings. No different than any other transducer.

Post pictures of your transducer installation with at least one taken at the same level as the transducer.
