    Installing 73SV Chirp units

Hey all finally got around to getting some units. I'll be attempting the install this week. If any of you have advice and experience for the install, it is appreciated. I also plan to connect the units with the sharing cable.

I have a stepped hull and I've heard this can be tricky with placement of the transducer. I'll try and post a pic tonight to see if any of you can offer additional input. Thanks!

I went with a transducer saver bracket on the jackplate, nice and tidey. Mine has a step too, generally you want the skimmer transducer 1/8 to 1/4 inch below the running surface of the hull but not sure how a step will effect this though.

Skip the sharing cable. Go to HD or lowes and get however many feet of 20 gauge lamp cord and some heat shrink butt connectors. I took 22 gauge blue and brown wire and made my own.

Thanks for the feedback all. I've started the install. So far so good. I'll figure how to post a pic tonight. Hoping I don't have interference issues as some people are on this board.

Just be sure to connect the blue wire from one unit to the brown wire on the other unit. And vice versa. One is incoming and one is outgoing.

Alright, finally got around to uploading the pic. Please let me know what y'all think of the mounting location. OR let me know if you need a different angle, etc.

Say no to drilling holes in your boat, http://www.transducershieldandsaver.com/ plus if you need to raise or lower the transducer to get better reading you can block the L bracket, mine set 1/8" below the step and works great. If your not going with a saver be sure to mount it to a transducer mounting plate http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...g&gclsrc=aw.ds
