Oh contrair, if you put in the time to research this boat against others, you will indeed see a price difference.
Example: I priced a Ranger 188 which is in the same class as the Phoenix 618. I had owned Ranger in the past and wasn't going to count them out.
Standard Ranger 188 w/ 150opti boat plus:
Dual Console
8 inch plate
Hot foot w/ slider
Dual trim locations (blinker trim)
Power pole w/ butt seat
Cover
Price $33,899 out the door.
Phoenix 618 has ALL the above as standard, PLUS: live well pumps outs, net, removable console, tilt steering wheel
Price UNDER $30,000 out the door.
When it comes to bass boats, that in and of itself is NOT a reason to buy IMHO. My buddy has a 188 and I have fish it plenty, good boat no doubt, yet it doesn't compare in performance to the 618. Factor in the hull performance and fish-ability of the Phoenix and there was only one choice for me.
The key is to compare apples to apples and itemize the boats features side by side.
